How to Kick a User on Discord Server?

Once the decision has been made to kick a user, the next step is to find the user in the server's member list. Once located, the user can then be kicked by clicking the "Kick" button next to their name. Once kicked, the user will be removed from the server and will no longer be able to access it.

Here's the step by step guide on how to kick a user on Discord server.

Step 1. Open your Discord account

You have to open your Discord account and have administrative permission to kick someone on the Discord server. For this example, we will be using our test server, GoLinuxCloud Test Server.

Step 2. Choose the User

Whenever you're in the server and someone is acting up, spamming or sending suspicious links, you can right click on their name or look for their name on the right side bar of the app.

Step 3. Kick User

After selecting the user and right clicking on their username, you can now see the list of the options you can do on that user. You can see below that a red colored option is highlighted. You can see Timeout, Kick or Ban plus the name of the user. You can do this actions if you have the permissions to do so. For this article, we will be kicking the user. Click on "Kick +name of the user"

Step 4. Confirm Kick

You will be asked for a reason for the kick. You don't necessarily need to do this. You will also see that the prompt shows that they can still join back in the server with a new invite. Confirm the kick by clicking on "Kick"

The user will now be kicked and will not be listed on the member's list on the right side bar of the screen.

NOTE:

Kicking a user will NOT delete their message history. If the user sent malicious links, you have to delete them manually. You can do this by searching his chat history using the search bar.
