How to PROPERLY manage Discord Payments? [SOLVED]

Discord is a popular chat app with millions of users worldwide and is used for everything from gaming to work chat, and it’s perfect for developer communities. It is a fantastic tool for gamers and other online users to communicate. It's also a terrific method to stay in touch with distant family and friends. It is a well-liked chat platform that has swiftly established itself as a mainstay in the gaming and online communication communities because to its simplicity of use, lack of cost, and plenty of features that can be helpful.

Discord also offers subscriptions that you can purchase, like Boosts and Nitro. To purchase these, you need to add a Payment Method. In this article, we will show you on how to add and delete payment methods.

What Payment Methods Work on Discord?

To make a purchase or to subscribe, you will need a valid payment method linked to your account.

Add Payment Method on Discord

You might want to add a payment method on Discord to purchase Nitro or Boost. The easiest explanation on how to add a payment method is that you need to go to User Settings > Billing Tab > Add Payment Method. After filling in your details, you will now have your payment method ready.

Here's how to add a payment method on Discord Windows or Mac desktop app or browser.

Step 1. Open your Discord app

To start, open your Discord app or browser and sign in. You can open either your web app or your desktop application. Both offers the same way on how to add payment method on Discord.

Step 2. Go to User Settings

After opening your Discord accord you will see on the bottom left side of the screen, there is your username and your profile picture. Beside that you will see a cog logo that is labelled "User Settings". Click on it.

Step 3. Go to Billing

After entering the User Settings, you will see all the settings that you can change on your account. Below the Billing Settings category, click on "Billing"

Step 4. Add Payment Method

After opening Billing option, you can now see all the transactions that you have in the past, if you have any. Above are the list of the payment methods. If you don't have one, there's an "Add Payment Method" button on the right side. Click on it.

Step 5. Select your Payment Method

You will have the choice to select your new payment method. For this instance, I will add a payment method using my Card.

Note: The options for payment method may vary on different locations.

Step 6. Fill in your Card or Account Details

After selecting the payment type, you will not be asked for your card or account details. In this instance, since I chose card, I need to put my credit card number, its expiration date, CVC and the name on the card. After filling in the details required, click on "Next"

Step 7. Fill in your Address

Before you successfully add your payment method, you will also be asked for your address. This will serve as your billing address. After filling in your address, press "Next"

Step 8. Payment Method Successfully Added

You will now see the payment method that you added on the list of Payment Methods.

Delete Payment Method on Discord

Note: If there is an ongoing subscription on your account and the payment method is used on that specific subscription, you cannot remove or delete the payment method. First, you need to cancel your subscription then delete payment method.
