Getting started with ServerStats Bot in Discord
Discord is a VoIP and chat app for gamers that allows gamers to connect with each other for gaming purposes. It’s a great platform for voice and text chat for gamers of all levels of experience, from the casual player who just wants to chat with friends during their next game, to the hardcore competitive player who wants to organize and manage their gaming sessions. Discord also has awesome features like server and client voice chat, rich media voice and video support, and dynamic server roles that give you more control over who can join your game and when.
But one of the best things about Discord is the bots. Bots are little programs that can do all sorts of things in Discord, from playing music to keeping track of your server stats. There are all sorts of bots available for Discord, and new ones are being created all the time.
One of the most popular and useful bots for Discord is the ServerStats bot. This bot allows you to keep track of all the important stats for your Discord server, like the number of members, the number of online members, the number of channels, and more. You can also use the ServerStats bot to create custom leaderboards for your server, which is a great way to encourage competition and activity. The ServerStats bot is free to use, and it’s easy to set up. Just invite the bot to your server and give it the necessary permissions.
How to Invite and Use ServerStats in Discord?
The easiest way to explain these steps is to invite the bot and to run certain commands as long as it has the right permissions. The bot will automatically create the category and channels that it will use.
Here are the step by step guide on how to invite and use ServerStats in Discord.
Step 1. Open your Discord app in browser
You have to open your Discord account in your browser since you need to invite the bot in your server.
Step 2. Visit Tickets Bot Official Website
You can either search on Google to look for the official website or use this link ServerStats Bot website.
Step 3. Invite ServerStats Bot to your Server
After visiting the bot's official website. You will see two buttons, "Invite Bot" and "Get Support". Since you first need to invite the bot on your server, click on "Invite Bot".
Step 4. Selecting your Server
After inviting the bot, you will be then redirected to this page asking you to add the bot on the server of your choice. In this instance, I will be adding the ServerStats bot to my test server, GoLinuxCloud Test Server.
After selecting the server of your choice, click "Continue".
Step 5. Authorizing Tickets Bot to your Server
The bot will ask you permissions to access the server. You don't have to worry because you can change these permissions later.
Scroll down and click "Authorize". This will make the bot receive all the permissions that they asked you to confirm.
Step 6. Completing the Captcha Challenge
After authorizing the bot, you now need to complete a captcha challenge to prove that you're not a bot. Put a check on the box and you're good to go. You will be prompted that you can close or refresh the tab now.
Step 7. ServerStats Bot Successfully Invited
You will then be redirected back to the website and you will see a prompt saying "Thank you for adding Server Stats"
You have now successfully invited the bot to your Discord server. The next steps are for setting up the statistics category and channel.
Step 8. Back to the Server
Go back to the server that you invited the ServerStats Bot in. You have to run the setup command which is /setup
.
Then you'll have to select which type of channel you want the bot to create as the counter's channel. I would personally recommend voice channel since these channels should be read-only and you cannot send messages in voice channels.
Step 9. Server's Stats Set up success
After choosing the channel and hitting enter, the bot will not initiate building the category and the channel. After that, the bot will send a message that the set up has been completed.
On the top left side of the application, you will see a ServerStats category with all the basic counters offered by the bot.
/counter
.And there you have it. You can already check your server's stats.
