Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 May 2026.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you ("you", "user", "reader") and the operator of GoLinuxCloud ("we", "us", "our", "GoLinuxCloud") and govern your access to and use of the website at https://www.golinuxcloud.com and all related sub-domains, content, downloads, code samples, RSS feeds, and APIs (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service in any way — including merely viewing a page — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
A note on legal review. These Terms are written to reflect how GoLinuxCloud actually operates and to comply with reasonable industry practice for an educational publication. They are not a substitute for legal advice tailored to your specific jurisdiction or your specific use case. If you intend to rely on the Service in a regulated context (medical, legal, financial, safety-critical), please obtain independent legal advice.
1. Who we are
GoLinuxCloud is an educational website operated by Deepak Prasad, based in India. Editorial and operational contact: [email protected]. Our full identity, mission, and authorship details are on the About Us page; this page handles only the legal relationship between you and us.
2. What the Service provides
The Service consists of:
- Free educational articles, tutorials, cheat sheets, code samples, screenshots, and diagrams covering Linux, DevOps, Kubernetes, programming languages, networking, security, databases, and adjacent topics.
- Author pages, category pages, search, an RSS feed, and a sitemap.
- Optional downloads (configuration files, scripts, sample manifests) hosted directly on GoLinuxCloud or on linked third-party platforms (e.g. public GitHub gists).
- Sponsored / guest-contributed posts that are clearly segregated under the
/sponsored/URL path. - Comments and contact forms, where enabled.
The Service is provided free of charge. We do not currently sell paid access to any part of the Service.
3. Eligibility and account-free access
You do not need to register an account to read GoLinuxCloud. The Service is available to anyone with internet access, subject to local law and our robots.txt policy for automated crawlers.
By using the Service you confirm that:
- You are at least 13 years of age. (If you are under 18, please use the Service under the supervision of a parent or guardian, and ensure that they have read these Terms.)
- Your use of the Service does not violate any law applicable to you.
- Your use of the Service does not violate any prior agreement you may have with us (for example, a takedown notice or a previous account ban — yes, these have happened).
4. Educational use only — no warranty
All content on the Service is provided "as-is" and "as-available", for general educational purposes, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. In particular:
- We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep tutorials accurate and tested — see our Editorial Policy and Fact-Checking Policy — but we do not warrant that any command, configuration, script, code sample, screenshot, or instruction will work on your specific operating system, distribution, kernel, library version, cloud account, or network configuration.
- You are solely responsible for testing every instruction in a non-production environment first, and for making your own determination of whether it is safe to run.
- You are solely responsible for compliance with the licensing terms of any third-party software, package, image, or service referenced in any tutorial.
- Performance characteristics (speed, memory, disk usage, latency) discussed in tutorials are observations from our test environment. Your numbers will be different.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all implied warranties — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.
5. No professional advice
Nothing on the Service constitutes:
- Legal advice. Tutorials on GDPR, licensing, compliance, or terms of service of any third party are educational summaries; consult a lawyer for your situation.
- Financial or investment advice. Tutorials that touch cloud billing, cost optimization, or commercial software pricing are not investment advice.
- Medical, safety-critical, or life-critical advice. Do not use a Linux / programming / networking tutorial as the sole basis for decisions where human safety is involved.
- A formal security audit. Security tutorials describe techniques and defaults; they are not a substitute for a qualified penetration test or security review of your specific systems.
Engage a licensed professional for situations that require formal advice.
6. Intellectual property
6.1 Our content
Article text, original code samples, diagrams, illustrations, and screenshots created by GoLinuxCloud authors are copyright © 2018-present, GoLinuxCloud / Deepak Prasad, unless explicitly marked otherwise (for example, a third-party diagram credited inline).
You may:
- Read, share, link to, quote (with attribution and a link back), and print a single copy of any article for personal, non-commercial use.
- Use individual code snippets (typically fewer than ~25 lines) in your own work without attribution. We write code samples intending for them to be reused.
You may not:
- Republish full articles on another website, mirror domain, scraped index, RSS aggregator that strips attribution, AI-training corpus, or print compilation, in whole or in substantial part.
- Translate full articles into another language and publish the translation under your name without prior written permission.
- Remove our authorship, our copyright notice, or our internal links when redistributing any portion of the content.
- Use our content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate a machine-learning model without express written permission. Our robots.txt is the operative technical signal; this clause is the corresponding legal statement.
6.2 Your content
If you submit a guest article, a comment, a correction, or any other content to the Service ("Your Submission"), you grant GoLinuxCloud a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable license to:
- Publish, edit, translate, archive, and distribute Your Submission as part of the Service.
- Use Your Submission in promotional excerpts, newsletters, social media posts, search-engine listings, and the site's RSS feed.
You retain copyright in Your Submission and may republish it elsewhere. You represent and warrant that Your Submission is your own work (or that you have the right to grant the licence above), that it does not infringe any third party's rights, and that you have not previously assigned exclusive rights to anyone else.
6.3 Third-party trademarks
Linux® is the registered trademark of Linus Torvalds. Kubernetes® is a trademark of The Linux Foundation. Docker® is a trademark of Docker, Inc. Red Hat®, RHEL®, and OpenShift® are trademarks of Red Hat, Inc. AWS®, Azure®, Google Cloud™, Python®, Go™, and similar marks belong to their respective owners. Use of these marks on the Service is nominative — we use them to refer to the products themselves, for educational purposes, and we do not claim sponsorship or endorsement by their holders.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror, crawl, or bulk-download the Service for any purpose other than personal reading via a standard browser. (Casual
curlor browser caching is fine. Industrial-scale scraping is not.) - Use the Service to train, fine-tune, distil, or evaluate any machine-learning model, except crawlers explicitly allowed in our robots.txt.
- Attempt to disable, bypass, or defeat the access controls, paywalls (we have none currently, but the clause stands), or rate limits of the Service or its hosting provider.
- Submit a comment, correction, or guest contribution that is spam, malware, doxxing, defamatory content, content that infringes a third party's rights, content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or in India, or content that is sexually explicit.
- Use the Service in a manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service or interfere with any other party's use.
- Impersonate another person, falsely state your affiliation with a company, or otherwise misrepresent your identity in any submission or contact.
We may suspend or terminate access for any user that materially breaches this Section 7, with or without notice, and we may report serious violations to the relevant authorities or hosting providers.
8. Advertising and affiliate links
The Service is supported in part by:
- Display advertising served by AdPushup (an authorized Google AdSense partner) and AdRecover.
- Affiliate links to products we use or recommend (for example, Rocket.net, which hosts a separate project of ours). When you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying purchase, GoLinuxCloud may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.
We disclose the affiliate relationship in our Editorial Policy and, where required by law, inline at the link. Sponsored content lives under /sponsored/.
Your interactions with any advertiser, affiliate, or sponsor — including the purchase of any product or service — are solely between you and that third party. GoLinuxCloud is not a party to those transactions, does not warrant any third-party product, and is not responsible for any loss arising from your dealings with a third party found through the Service.
9. Third-party services and links
The Service contains links to third-party websites, downloads, repositories, and services that we do not operate (including GitHub, YouTube, vendor documentation portals, Buy Me a Coffee, and product pages). When you click such a link or interact with embedded third-party content, you leave the Service and become subject to that third party's terms and privacy policy.
We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, privacy practices, or security of any third party.
10. Privacy and data protection
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy. Those documents describe what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we retain it, and what rights you have over it under applicable data-protection law (including the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the California CCPA / CPRA).
If you submit your name and email address to us via the contact form or by emailing us, you consent to our processing of that information for the purpose of responding to you. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimer of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided "as-is" without any express or implied warranty (see Section 4).
- GoLinuxCloud, its operator, contributors, and authors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or system outage — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or your inability to use, the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed INR 1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees) or the equivalent in your local currency at the time of the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain implied warranties or consequential damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you in full.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GoLinuxCloud, its operator, contributors, and authors from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:
- Your breach of these Terms.
- Your violation of any law or third-party right.
- Any content you submit to the Service.
- Your use of, or your inability to use, the Service in a manner not contemplated by these Terms.
13. Modifications to the Service or these Terms
We may, at our sole discretion:
- Add, modify, withdraw, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice (for example, retiring an outdated tutorial — see our Corrections Policy for what happens to URLs in that case).
- Update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
We will not retro-actively change material commercial terms; if a future revision adds a paid component (we have no plans currently), the new term will apply only after you agree to it. Your continued use of the Service after a non-material revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, for any material breach of these Terms — in particular, repeated violations of Section 7 (Acceptable use). On termination, the provisions of Sections 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 15, and 16 survive.
15. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved in good faith through email correspondence with [email protected]. Failing that, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, nothing in this Section 15 affects your mandatory right to bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence.
16. Miscellaneous
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
- No assignment by you. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations to a successor entity (for example, a future incorporation of GoLinuxCloud).
- No agency. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between you and us.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, and any policy referenced in them, constitute the entire agreement between you and us with respect to the Service.
